Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information CFO Consultant collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It includes how we use the Meta (Facebook) pixel on this website.
Who we are
CFO Consultant is a trading name of Tali Shani Pty Ltd (ABN 44 155 047 878), based in Victoria, Australia. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Tali Shani Pty Ltd trading as CFO Consultant. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number, business name and role;
- details about your business that you choose to share, such as what it does, its approximate size and your goals;
- the details you give when you book a call, and the content of messages you send us;
- if you become a client, the financial and accounting information you give us access to so we can do the work, such as reports from your accounting software;
- information about how you use our website and how you came to it, such as your IP address, browser, device, the pages you visit and the links you click.
How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you complete a form, request a guide, book a call, email or speak with us.
- Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta pixel, when you visit our website.
- From third parties where you have allowed it, such as your accountant or bookkeeper when you ask them to share information with us.
Why we collect and use it

- To arrange, hold and follow up calls, and to decide whether a conversation with Mark Liner would be of value to you.
- To provide our services, if you become a client.
- To send you helpful information and offers about our services, where you have asked for or agreed to them (see “Marketing emails” below).
- To understand how our website and advertising are performing, and to improve them.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations.
Marketing emails
If you request our guide or book a call, we may email you information and offers about our services. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing mark@cfoconsultant.com.au. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We never sell your email address.
The Meta (Facebook) pixel and advertising
We use the Meta pixel, a small piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), on parts of this website. When you visit one of those pages, the pixel may collect information about your visit, such as your IP address, browser and device details, the page you viewed and actions you take, such as clicking a booking button or requesting a guide. Meta may also place cookies in your browser.
We use this information to:
- measure how well our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads are working;
- show our ads to people who have visited our website or who are similar to our visitors (sometimes called remarketing or custom audiences); and
- avoid showing ads for things you have already done, such as booking a call.
Meta handles the information it collects through the pixel under its own privacy policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy. If we upload contact details such as an email address to Meta to build an audience, they are encoded before they leave our systems and are used only for matching.
Your choices. You can control how Meta uses your information to show you ads through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks tracking. Blocking the pixel will not affect your ability to read our website, book a call or request a guide.
Other cookies and website tools
Our website may use other cookies and tools to work properly and to understand how it is used. Where we use them, they are used for those purposes only. You can change your browser settings to refuse cookies, although parts of the site may not work as well.
Who we share your information with
We share personal information only with people and services that help us run our business, and only as needed. These include:
- our email, calendar and video-call provider (Google Workspace, including Google Calendar and Google Meet);
- our website hosting provider and our form-handling service (for example, Formspree);
- customer relationship, scheduling and email tools we use to manage enquiries and follow-up;
- Meta, through the pixel described above;
- our advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, and government bodies where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information sent overseas
Some of the services we use, including Google, Meta and our hosting and form providers, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to choose providers that protect personal information, but we cannot control how overseas providers handle it once it is with them.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using secure, password-protected systems and limiting access to the people who need it. If we no longer need information, and the law does not require us to keep it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
If we are ever involved in a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email mark@cfoconsultant.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we have handled your personal information, email us at mark@cfoconsultant.com.au. We will look into it and reply in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
